Electrolysis Care & Preparation Guidelines
Proper preparation and aftercare play an important role in treatment comfort, skin health, and overall results. The guidelines below are designed to help you feel prepared and confident before your appointment and to support healing afterward.
Electrolysis Pre-Treatment Guidelines
Hair Growth
Please arrive with 3–5 days of visible hair growth. Avoid waxing, tweezing, threading, or other root-removing methods for at least 3 weeks before your first session and during your treatment series.
Clean, Product-Free Skin
Please arrive with the treatment area clean and free of makeup, deodorant, lotions, creams, oils, or other products.

Caffeine & Sensitivity
Caffeine may increase skin sensitivity. Avoiding caffeine on the day of your appointment can help improve comfort.
Hydration
Well-hydrated skin responds better to treatment. We recommend drinking plenty of water for at least 48 hours prior to your appointment.

Topical Numbing (Optional)
If desired, a topical numbing cream may be applied prior to treatment. If you choose to use one, please follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.
Sun Exposure
Avoid sunbathing and tanning beds for at least 48 hours prior to treatment to reduce skin sensitivity.
Electrolysis Post Treatment Guidelines
Hair Removal Methods
Shaving or trimming is permitted between appointments. Hair must be allowed to grow prior to each session so it can be treated effectively.
Sun Protection
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 48 hours following treatment to reduce irritation and sensitivity.
Skin Care & Healing
Keep the treated area clean for the first 24 hours. Do not pick at scabs or whiteheads, as this may increase the risk of scarring.

Activity & Exercise
Avoid exercise for 24–48 hours after treatment. If activity is necessary, keep the treated area clean as recommended.

Product Use
Avoid applying makeup, lotions, powders, sprays, or other products to the treated area for 24 hours, unless otherwise instructed.
Heat, Friction & Swelling
For 1–2 days, avoid excessive heat and friction, including hot showers, saunas, spas, pools, and unnecessary touching. Mild redness or swelling is normal and may be soothed with a cold compress.
